🌱 Sens Of Life is undertaking its fourth consecutive year of environmental monitoring to evaluate the potential impact of the construction phase of the Offshore Wind Farm in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc on birdlife and bat. 🦇🐦

This study highlights the expertise and perfect complementarity of our services, expertise, and products through the following method :

– A radar solution will be installed on the renowned Vauban Tower, comprising both an X-band radar and an S-band radar, enabling the detection and 3D tracking of birdlife within a radius up to 10 km away.

– Two ultrasound TrackBat® device have been installed, one the the TSM Kermor tugboat and the other at sea on the Grand Léjon lighthouse, enabling to monitor and detect bats activity.

-Ground-based ornithological study monitoring on the Cap Fréhel peninsula.

We thank the teams at Iberdrola France for their repeated trust throughout this extensive mission, which is set to conclude later this spring.

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming TrackBats installation on the windfarm, directly into the turbines’nacelle. This will enable the monitoring of bat activity during the operational phase, marking a significant milestone as a world-first endeavor.

 

 

 

🌱 Sens Of Life renouvelle pour la quatrième année consécutive un suivi environnemental dans le but de qualifier l’impact potentiel de la phase de construction du Parc Eolien Offshore de la Baie de Saint-Brieuc sur l’avifaune et les chiroptères.  🦇🐦

Cette étude met en lumière tout le savoir faire et la parfaite complémentarité de nos services, expertises, et produits en mettant en œuvre les moyens suivants :

– Une solution radar installée sur la célèbre tour Vauban, composée d’un radar en bande X et d’un radar en bande S permettant une détection et un suivi 3D de l’avifaune jusqu’ à 10 km de distance.

– Deux dispositifs d’écoute et de détection des chiroptères avec un premier TrackBat installé sur le remorqueur TSM Kermor et un second TrackBat® installé en pleine mer sur le phare du Grand Léjon.

– Un suivi ornithologique au sol.

Nous sommes de plus extrêmement fier de pouvoir annoncer la prochaine installation de TrackBats directement en nacelle des éoliennes de ce parc et assurer ainsi un suivi chiroptérologique en phase d’exploitation d’un parc éolien offshore ce qui représentera une première mondiale.
